Paramjit Kaur Chahal to joins as new district education officer, secondary

Paramjit Kaur Chahal, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Nabha, has been appointed as the new district education officer (DEO), secondary, and will take over the charge on Tuesday. In the past three months, three DEOs (secondary) have been changed in Ludhiana.


Kaur has replaced Gurjot Singh, who has been transferred as DEO, elementary. However, Singh has replaced Ram Bhushan, who has been transferred as principal of Government School, Mandi Gobindgarh, Fatehgarh Sahib. Total 143 Punjab Education Services (PES) officers, school and inspection group-A, have been transferred in Punjab by state education secretary Anjali Bawra.

It is pertinent to mention here that Gurjot Singh was given the charge of DEO, secondary, on June 9 and within just a month, Paramjit Kaur Chahal, has been appointed as new DEO.

On April 13, after former DEO, secondary, Paramjit Kaur was transferred as principal, District Institute of Education And Training (DIET), Nabha in Patiala, the officiating charge was given to Charanjit Singh, deputy DEO, secondary, Ludhiana.

Two posts of deputy DEOs (elementary) were lying vacant for the past several months in Ludhiana but now, Dimpal Madaan from Moga, and Baljinder Kaur, principal, Government School, Ajitval, have been appointed the deputy DEOs. Ashish Kumar, principal, Government School, Moga, will join as deputy DEO, secondary.
