People protested at Rajindra Hospital after its management cancelled the bids for allotment of its parking contract here on Tuesday.
Gurmohan Singh, a bidder, who was protesting outside the office of the medical superintendent, alleged that owing to political pressure, the hospital management had cancelled the allotment process, which was to be completed on Tuesday, without informing the residents.
Hospital medical superintendent BL Bhardwaj said that fresh tenders would be floated with stricter norms on October 30. “This bid has been cancelled following the direction of higher authorities, as police officials were not present during the bidding process, which is mandatory,”he said.
Following complaints of overcharging and violation of norms, the hospital management had cancelled the contract of the previous contractor a few days back. The fresh bidding process would be held on October 30.
