Reacting to the fresh bout of fight between Congress leaders Capt Amarinder Singh and Partap Singh Bajwa, senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal on Sunday said there could be differences in any political party but they should not come out in the open.

Bhattal, who was here to attend a Lohri Mela, said there could be personal differences in any political party but what was not right is to expose every difference in the media. “It hurts me when I see such issues coming in the public. With the passage of time, all differences can be resolved.”

Talking about the recent SAD protests on the border, Bhattal said, “The SAD protests on the border blaming the BSF were more like a volleyball match as they were shifting the blame on to the paramilitary forces. It is a futile exercise. Why blame others when the state government has failed to address the drug issue, she said, adding that instead of protesting in the state, the SAD should protest in the national capital, and also talk about their not being able to control the drug menace.

Bhattal said, “I feel that rather than staging protests, one should try to focus on resolving the core reasons associated with the inflow of drugs from across the border.”

While talking about her party, she said, “The Congress is a truly democratic party though the SAD leaders think otherwise.”
