The Regional Passport Office, Chandigarh, will be holding a passport adalat on November 4, 2015 on its premises in Sector 34-A.
Applicants who have submitted their passport applications on or before December 31, 2014, will be required to attend the said adalat.
Disclosing this, regional passport officer Rakesh Agrawal said that in 2014, they had received around 3.85-lakh applications, of which around 3,000 were pending because of various objections. Our aim is to furnish the passports on the spot if the applicants produce the required documents at the adalat.
“General objections in the files are related to pending criminal cases, doubtful birth certificate, previous passport not disclosed, change of date of birth, change of particulars, forgery in the documents, etc,” said Aggarwal.
Applicants from all the districts falling under the jurisdiction of RPO, Chandigarh, will be at the passport adalat.
The information about the adalat is also being put on the website www.passportindia.gov.in. Aggarwal said files submitted prior to year 2013 have already been disposed of.
