Pathankot boy bags 3rd position in Punjab in PSEB Class 10 exams

Chasing mediapersons for interviews and relatives to congratulate him was all that Lokesh Mahajan, a student of Vivekanand High School, enjoying after bagging the third position in the state in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 10 examination, the results of which were declared on Monday.

Residents of Lamini locality here were also seen relishing the success of Lokesh, who was being treated by them as a hero.

Nurtured by his mother Archana Gupta, a teacher at Government High School, Daultpur, and father Naresh Mahajan, a biology lecturer at Government High School, Batala, Lokesh claimed that their guidance paid him a lot and his science teacher OP Nagpal polished him to secure this position.

"I want to become a doctor and my Class 10 position will serve as a booster dose to me," he said when asked about his future plans.

"My father has inculcated in me the interest for medical and I also enjoy studying medical subjects," he added.

"I used to study for around eight hours a day for Class 10 exams, but I would increase it in Class 11, as I want to come first," said Lokesh.

Lokesh father Naresh Mahajan said he was very happy with his son's performance. "I am feeling on the top of the world," said Archana Gupta, Lokesh's mother.
