Local boy Oshin Bhatia has secured the fourth rank in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) MBBS entrance examination, the result of which was declared on Thursday.Oshin had been ranked 18th in the Punjab Pre-Medical Entrance Test (PMET), which was held recently.
“My ultimate goal was to enter the New Delhi-based AIIMS, a premier medical institute of the country. I am more than happy to have done it with flying colours,” said an ecstatic Oshin.
He said he owed his success to hard work and the blessings of his parents and mentors at Budha Dal Public School.Oshin added that he had been taking coaching for competitive exams for the past more than four years, besides dedicating 6-7 hours on a daily basis to studies.
“I was upset after the cancellation of the All-India Pre-Medical Test, but now I am relieved as I would get an opportunity to take admission in my dream medical institute,” Oshin said.
Meanwhile, Budha Dal Public School principal Amrit Aujla congratulated the student and his parents. She said Oshin was also one of the four students who would represent India at the International Bio Olympiad in Denmark from July 10-19.
