11,000 voters enrolled in special drive

Under the special drive of the Election Commission of India, the district administration held  a voter registration camp at booth  level, which drew huge response from youngsters.


Giving this information, Patiala district returning officer GK Singh said that nearly 11,000 voters, in which 90 per cent are youngsters and have attained age of 18 years, have enrolled their name in voters' list.

He said that the response of the youth was a good move to strength the democracy. Even the political parties also took interest to include the name of eligible voters in the voters' list. The booth wise supplementary list of new voters will be updated soon, informed officials.
