The parents of a 25-year-old youth, Kamaljit Singh alias Kamal of Jhambala village who went missing on June 24, have been running from pillar to post trying to find his whereabouts.

Baljit Singh, father of the missing youth, said that his son had left home on June 24 at about 9 pm saying he was going to receive his boss, who was coming from Chennai, at the Mandi Gobindgarh bus stand. But, he had not returned after that, his father said. Kamal was working as a scrap contractor in Mandi Gobindgarh. Singh said that police had informed them that their scooter used by his son had been found parked near a bridge in Bhalmajra village. The search operation launched along the canal for 11 days returned no results, he said. Alleging his son had either been kidnapped or murdered, Singh claimed his son could not have committed suicide.
