A five-year-old boy was abducted from in Sheron village of Sunam sub-division on Friday. The boy identified as Harvinder Singh was a Class-1 student at the Government Primary School was kidnapped by two motorcyclists when he came out of the school premises during break.

According to the police, Harvinder's friend told his parents that two boys with their faces covered came on their bike and took Harvinder with them on the pretext that his father was asking to come home.

Talking to HT, Cheema police station in charge Baljit Singh said that the boy's father Gurpay Singh had filed a complaint.

The boy's family suspected the involvement of Lucky Singh of Chajjali village as the boy's mother belongs to village. She is the only daughter of her father who owns acres of land there.

About the arrest of Lucky, the SHO said, "the police was investigating Luckhy's role, but still there is no clue about the boy as the kidnappers have not made any ransom call yet." However, after the repeated attempts Sunam DSP could not be contacted for his comment.
