8 parties get united, slam Modi for not bringing ‘achhe din’

Showing a united face, eight political parties got united and slammed the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for misleading the people by making a false promise of ‘achhe din’.


At a meeting held here on Tuesday, representatives of CPI-ML (liberation), CPI-ML (new democracy), CPI-ML (redstar), CPM Punjab (Pasla), MCPI (united), Aam Aadmi Party and Charcha Vichar Manch have decided to hold a convention on August 9 here to make the people aware of wrong policies of the central government.

Kiranjit Singh Sekhon of the MCPI said that the meeting condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forgetting his promise of brining ‘achhe din’. “In the past two months, the Modi government has failed to bring ‘achhe din’, but due to hike in railway fare, diesel and LPG prices, the ‘aam aadmi was facing bad days.” Leaders also condemned the union government’s approval to foreign direct investment (FDI) in insurance and defence sectors, he added.

Leaders also slammed the Punjab government for imposing property tax in Punjab. They said the government has also passed the Punjab Prevention Of Damage To Public And Private Property Bill 2014, which is ‘undemocratic’ and will harm right of people to raise voice against anti-people policies of the government.
