Alternative dispute resolution centre opens

Mr Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, chief justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, inaugurated a modern ADR (alternative dispute resolution Centre),Samjhauta Sadan, at Fatehgarh Sahib on Monday.


It will bring all modes of alternative dispute resolution under one roof and the services provided here will include a mediation centre, permanent lok adalat (Public Utility Services), and cases under the victim compensation scheme.

Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Cour t, Chandigarh, said with the alternative dispute resolution modes, the overall pendency of cases can be brought down.

With the decision of cases through compromise and use of modes of alternative dispute resolution, the faith of the people would be restored in the system.

Certain forms of litigation, including family disputes, matrimonial disputes should be settled by way of compromise, so that the relations between the parties do not sour.
