Badunagar releases book on Dhadi Jaswant Singh Tann

Former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Kirpal Singh Badungar released a book on Dhadi Jaswant Singh Tann, authored by Hardial Singh Thuhi,on Wednesday.

The book, published by the Punjab Language department, was released at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib. Vice-chancellor Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia presided over the ceremony. Badungar, who is also a Sikh scholar, was the guest of honour.

Badungar said that writers should raise their voice against various social evils, while the VC claimed that the university was making efforts to promote the Punjabi language. Writer Dr Harchand Singh Sirhandi read out a paper on Dhadi Tann, who is also a former SGPC member and is known to be close to late SGPC president jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra.

Punjabi poet Surjit Pattar, former minister Harmail Singh Tohra, senior SAD leaders Ranit Singh Libra, Harinderpal Singh Chandumajra also expressed their views. Jaswant Singh Tann was the stage conductor.
