Bittu said it was a sorry state of affairs in Punjab in terms of crimes against women and the state government was least concerned and doing nothing to curb such incidents.

"Even after the Supreme Court took a serious note of Tarn Taran incident by equating it with 'Jalianwala killings', the state government did even bother to listen plight of the girl when some Congress legislatures brought her to the Vidhan Sabha," he said.

He pointed out that Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal were yet to meet the victim."The government was least bothered even as the the girl was getting threats to wtihdraw the complaint against the cops," Bittu said.
