The district health officials have decided to rope in the husband of the woman, who had alleged that she was made to undergo sonography at the Rajan Nursing Home, in the case against doctors of the home under the PNDT Act.

Officials said Gagandev, a resident of Patran, had allegedly forced his wife Rama Jindal to undergo a sex determination test at the Rajan Nursing Home, Rajbhaha Road, and finding that she was carrying a baby girl foetus was forcing her to terminate her pregnancy. Gagandev was torturing her wife for this also.

On this revelation made by the woman the health authorities had moved against the nursing home.

The civil surgeon said  that the decision to file a case under the PNDT Act against doctors of the nursing home Dr Raj K Gupta and Dr Shahi Rajan  along with Gagandev was taken at a district health advisory committee meeting.

He said the ultrasound machine at the nursing home has already been sealed.

Meanwhile, both doctors Raj K Gupta and Shahi Rajan refuted the allegations levelled against them of conducting sex determination tests.

Dr Gupta said, "The complainant, just to make her case of domestic violence stronger against her husband, has made false statements against the nursing home authorities."

He said both of us were not present in the country during the period during which the woman has alleged that she was made to undergo sonography.
