While the Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Kulwant Singh is having a smooth sailing during canvassing because of the backing of party president Sukhbir Badal, Congress candidate Sadhu Singh Dharmsot here is facing a tough time because of disgruntled leaders.

While sitting Congress MP Sukhdev Singh Libra has already joined SAD in protest against the denial of ticket, another ticket contender and former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Shamsher Singh Dullo is also miffed and disgruntled.

Instead of joining the campaign, Dullo is holding secret parleys with his confidants to decide the future course of action. After the denial of ticket, the high command had assured Dullo about a "respectable" setting in the party and he is awaiting for the fulfillment of that promise.

Sources said Dullo had conveyed to the high command to either adjust him in the AICC, appoint him as working president of the PPCC or campaign committee chairman.

"I will not comment in the media. I am waiting the response of the high command. After that, I will decide after my future course of action", said a disgruntled Dullo.

Another ticket contender Dr Amar Singh has also failed to reach Fatehgarh Sahib to campaign for Dharamsot.

The trio of Libra, Dullo and Dr Amar are from the Ramdasia Sikh community, which holds significant votes in this reserved seat.

To win this seat, the support of the Ramdasia community is must for the Congress as the Akali Dal candidate is also a Ramdasia Sikh.

The Chamar Maha Sabha has already decided to oppose the candidature of Dharamsot, who is from the Bazigar community.

However, when contacted Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that Dullo was a  respectable leader and would join the campaign. He said that the Congress was united and the Akali Dal was trying to create a confusion in the cadre as SAD candidate was on a sticky wicket.
