School principal Budh Ram said that that burning of crackers on Diwali was a wastage of money and resources, besides resulting in pollution.

The school also organised essay writing and poster-making competitions on the theme of 'Pollution-free Diwali'.

The NGO Udaan, also a part of the drive, said that besides harming the environment, pollution from crackers also caused many health hazards, especially among children and the elderly.
