Five booked for gangraping woman

The Mandi Gobindgarh police have booked five persons for gangraping a 36-year-old women in Ambemajra village on May 2.

The woman in her complaint alleged that she was married in 1996 and had two children from her husband Raju. She said that she later divorced her husband as he used to take drugs and beat her up.

She started living in Kadon village where she came in contact with Ram Rattan, a resident of Jalla village in Payal.

She opened a mobile shop in Ambemajra. She said that they had rented a shop of a local gurdwara management.

She further added that the incident took place when on May 2, they were about to return from the shop at about 10:30pm when five accused came to the shop and started slapping them.

She alleged that the accused dragged Ram Rattan out of the shop and then closed the shutter of the shop from inside and they sexually assaulted her one by one. She said that the accused escaped after she raised her voice. The accused also threatened to kill her.
 
Sub inspector Sankut Chaudhary and ASI Paramjit Singh said that a case under sections 376 G, 506, IPC, has been registered against the five accused who have been identified as Nikka, Raju alias Raj Kumar, Hussan, Hardeep singh Guggu and one unidentified youth.
