Gang of robbers busted

The Patiala police claim to have nabbed a gang of robbers by arresting six men, who were involved in about six cases of theft and loot.


In a press release, SSP Gurpreet Singh Gill said here on Sunday that the police had nabbed Ratan, resident of Jharkhand; Gurpreet Singh and Gagandip Singh, residents of Patiala; Kamal, resident of Rajasthan; Vicky, resident of Nabha; and Pankaj Kumar, resident of Bihar, when they were planning a robbery.

He said the police had seized a revolver, two stolen motorcycles, and 14 stolen mobile phones from them.

He said the accused used to target travellers at night. The accused had even committed crime outside Gurdwara Dukhniwaran and Kali Devi Temple, where they targeted devotees and snatched their mobile phones.

A case has been registered against them.
