The police have booked a Bahadurgarh resident for torturing his six-year-old son with cigarette butts and inflicting injuries on his body with a shaving blade.
The harrowing tale of torture was narrated by the child himself in a local court, where he was presented during the hearing of divorce case of his parents.
Dismayed over seeing injury marks on the body of the child, the court ordered police to get the child medically examined in the local Government Rajindra Hospital, where he was later admitted for treatment.
Finding himself in a tight spot, Baljit Singh, father of the victim child, fled from the court premises.
He was having the custody of child during the pendency of the divorce case.
The six-year-old boy told the media and doctors that his father used to pour hot tea on him, burnt him with cigarette butts and make cuts on his body with a shaving blade.
There were about 16 cut marks on different parts of his body, said doctors attending on the child.
The suspect father was annoyed over boy's demand to meet his mother.
Meanwhile Patiala Sadar Police Station have booked Baljit Singh under sections 323, 324
and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched a manhunt to nab him.
