Mentally upset man commits suicide in Bassi Pathana

A 38-year-old man, who was reportedly mentally upset, committed suicide in Bassi Pathana town of the district on Tuesday by hanging himself from the ceiling fan this morning. His body was found hanging in the morning.


Bassi Pathana police in charge assistant sub inspector Rajwant Singh said the deceased Sahib Singh's mother Balbir Kaur told the police that her son was mentally upset after the death of his wife.

The body was taken to the civil hospital, Bassi Pathana, for post mortem examination.

After the post mortem, the body was handed over to relatives of the deceased.

On the statement of Balbir Kaur, the police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of CrPC.
