The Sirhind police have recovered the body of Mandi Gobindgarh-based financier and transporter Karamjit Singh (38), whose car was found from near Bhakra canal on July 15. The police said the body was recovered with the help of divers. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased.

The reason behind the 'suicide' is yet to be ascertained. The deceased's relatives told the police that Karamjit had no enmity with anyone and had never borrowed any money. Sources close to Karamjit's family said he was suffering from depression and was earlier admitted to hospital for treatment.

Karamjit Singh had gone to Khanna on July 15 to get his car repaired.
