Taking the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president head-on, senior Congress leader and MLA Brahm Mohindra has fired another salvo against Capt Amarinder Singh, warning the latter to desist from hatching conspiracies against him and asking the Captain to 'be courageous and truthful'.

Ignoring Amarinder's warning that indiscipline would not be tolerated, Mohindra alleged him of being the one to breach party discipline.

Responding to a media outburst by Amarinder, the fifth-time MLA has shot a letter to the PPCC president, saying, "In the larger interest of party unity, I decided not to pursue this matter, but your statement in all the newspapers today, belittling my personality, has precipitated the whole issue. I would like to take up the issues raised in your statement one by one".

"First of all, the show-cause notice was uncalled for, and unwarranted. As president, you could always call me and seek my explanation, but on the contrary, you issued a show-cause notice. Further, without waiting for my reply, you went to the media. It is always the president of the party who maintains the discipline in the party and ensures no party worker goes to press with internal matters. But, by going to the press the way you have gone today, you yourself have breached the discipline. This is highly unfortunate," he attacked Amarinder in the letter.

Mohindra also rubbished Amarinder's claims that he campaigned for him in 2007 and 2012. "In public you present yourself as a courageous person. We appreciate that. Please be courageous and truthful. Did you not skip the election public meeting?" he question, adding, "JD Seelam, member of Parliament and an observer of the high command is a witness to it."

"Please let me know the time, date and venue, when you visited. People of the constituency will be very happy to know this," he rebuked.

Mohindra also denied that he was informed about his Moga duties. "I categorically deny this. This proves my point that a conspiracy, the handiwork of people very close to you," he charged.

"This whole thing is baffling. It seems you are ill informed or wrongly informed. I request you to please update yourself in an honest and right perspective about the whole matter," he advised Amarinder. He had apprised the high command of the developments in the aftermath of the issuance of showcause notices in detail.

Amarinder had recently issued notices to Mohindra and three others for being absent from the Moga poll campaign.
