A stent was placed in the arteries of Member Parliament and Aam Aadmi party leader in Lok Sabha, Dr Dharamvira Gandhi, who was on Sunday morning admitted at the Patiala Heart Care Hospital following chest pain complaint.
Dr Gandhi, a cardiologist with the same hospital, is admitted in the Critical Care Unit of Hospital post surgery.
Dr Gurpreet Sidhu said that the MP was rushed to the hospital after complaining of severe chest pain in the wee hours on Sunday. After conducting the Angiography, it was found that the arteries supplying blood to the heart were blocked. Following the tests, Dr Mukesh Yadav, interventional Radiologist, performed the surgery, the hospital said in a medical bulletin.
Ironically, Dr Gandhi is himself a famous cardiologist, who is famous for his social work of providing free medicine and medical aid to needy patients.
Dr Gandhi was elected to the Lok Sabha from Patiala constituency in the recently concluded elections. He has recently spoken on various issues in the Parliament during his maiden speech.
