Rakhra unfurls National Flag; says Rs. 41 cr to be spent on water supply

The minister of state for water supply and sanitation Surjit Singh Rakhra hoisted the National Flag at the Mata Gujri College here on the occasion of Independence Day.


Urging the residents to maintain peace, he said every citizen should realize their responsibility in the country's growth. He also honoured 12 dignitaries who excelled in their chosen fields besides honouring families of freedom fighters by distributing sewing machines, tricycles and wheel chairs.

Rakhra announced an official holiday in the district on August 16. 

He said that Rs. 41 crore would be spent on schemes to supply pure water to residents in the district.
