Security beefed up in city

Security has been beefed up in the city ahead of the Republic Day. Bbarricades have been raised at various points across the city, surveillance teams were conducting random checking of vehicles and frisking of commuters and passengers. Security around public places like shooping malls, bus stands, railway station and religious places have been heightened to ensure that there was no untoward incident.


Daljit Singh Rana, SP (city), said that the cops have been put on alert and certain pockets in the city are being given special attention.

A police official said as many as 16 nakas have been installed in various parts of the city. Cops in plain clothes have also been deployed.
