Angry over shortage of gunny bags, farmers at grain market in village Rangian, near Dhuri, 15 from here, blocked the Dhuri-Barnala road on Saturday.

The protestors raised slogans against the state government and procurement agencies, as their grain remains in the market despite having been procured technically.

Najinder Singh, one of the farmers, said despite repeated requests, the officials have failed to pay any heed to their problem. Malkeet Singh, member of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Lakhowal) said no gunny bags have been provided after October 26.
