Former Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh's Facebook 'interactions' have drawn a response from deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Taking a dig at Amarinder during his Patiala visit on Friday, Sukhbir said, "It's (introspection) good for him. At least he has started socialising, though only on Facebook." He, however, asked mediapersons, "By the way, where is he (Amarinder) himself?"

Often accused of being inaccessible to the public during his innings as state Congress president and the CM, Amarinder's latest query to FB users is: "Would it be correct to have an alliance with the People's Party of Punjab (PPP) in the wake of erosion of its votebank or to have an alliance with Left parties or to have no alliance with any party for the 2014 parliamentary elections?"
This poser had elicited 1,898 'likes' and 436 comments till 9pm on Friday.

Amarinder, who is keeping himself away from Congress rallies these days, has raised this question at a time when PPCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa is advocating a tie-up with Manpreet Badal's PPP. Earlier, the Captain had asked on Facebook: "Why Congress lost in 2007 and 2012 elections?"

The responses and suggestions of FB users range from "Congress should unite all forces against the SAD-BJP" to "no tie-up".

Despite repeated attempts, Amarinder could not be contacted for comment.

FB responses to Amarinder's poser
Surinder Birring: It will be good for party to have alliance with PPP and Left parties to defeat these Badals.

Ankur Singla: No alliance with PPP, go alone with unity

Harbans Singh Sran: Better go with BSP if possible.

Gurdev Singh Dhanoa: PPP is the best, go for it and make something good… make a khushal Punjab.

Badal should have removed Majithia, CPS, says BJP national secretary

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday slammed Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for not removing revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia and chief parliamentary secretary soon after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) called them for interrogation in the multi-crore drug racket in the state.
