After getting the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) ticket for the Lok Sabha elections from the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency, real estate baron Kulwant Singh has slammed both the UPA government and sitting MP Sukhdev Singh Libra (Congress).
Lashing out at the Congress-led UPA government, the SAD candidate said that the people of Fatehgarh Sahib had voted for the Congress candidate in the last elections but he failed to take up even a single issue related to the constituency in the Lok Sabha.

He alleged that Libra kept mum on the directions of the Congress high command as it was the will of the Gandhi family that no issue pertaining to Punjab should be raised in the House, particularly relating to backwardness of the areas in the constituency.

"Reject the Congress, as UPA failed as government while Libra failed as MP to raise your voice in Parliament", he said in a statement released here on Thursday.

The SAD-BJP combine candidate said that he will hold meetings with the halqa lincharges/MLAs belonging to the combine of all the assembly segments falling under the Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency to finalise the strategy to carry out an effective poll campaign. The victory of the combine in Punjab would help NDA form  government at the Centre under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
He said his campaign would be the "campaign of the people, by the people and for the people" and each and every leader and worker of the SAD-BJP would be an important part of the campaign.
Kulwant Singh said that the main poll plank of the SAD-BJP combine would be 'development' as it has carried out unprecedented development during the last seven years.
