Woman among eight booked for attempt to murder

The Amloh police on Friday booked eight persons, including a woman, in connection with attempt to murder of a Ghutind resident.


Following the statement of Gurbachan Singh, uncle of the victim and a resident of the same village, police booked Dilbagh Singh, alias, Bagha, and his other family members, including Avtar Singh, Hardev Singh, Sukhwant Singh, Sulakhan Singh, Kirandeep Singh, Jasandeep Singh and Gurjit Kaur of the same village under Sections 307,452,323,148,149 of the Indian penal code (IPC).

In his complaint to police, Gurbachan alleged that the accused trespassed his nephew Jaswinder Singh's (40) house and assaulted him with intention to kill him on Thursday night.

In the attack, Jaswinder was seriously injured and admitted to Government Hospital at Sector 32 in Chandigarh.

He stated that the accused family had borrowed `5 lakh from Jaswinder, who had been demanding his money back from them, was the reason behind the attack.

Investigating officer Taranjit Singh of the Amloh police station on Friday said no arrest was made so far in the case and police were conducting raids to arrest the accused.
