Women's Day celebrated on Pbi varsity campus

The International Women's Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm across the city on Friday.

The NSS department of Punjabi University, in collaboration with Women's Study Centre, organised a rally on the campus. A number of university teachers, students and employees participated in the rally.

Vice-chancellor Jaspal Singh cut a cake prepared by the hotel management department of the university. 

Jaspal Singh said international Women's Day is observed on March 8 all over the world to celebrate the spirit of womanhood and to sensitise states of the world against gender bias. He said women were capable of contributing on par with their male counterparts.
