PAU experts present papers at Pakistan varsity

Two scientists of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), senior horticulturist HS Rattanpal and assistant entomologist Sandeep Singh, participated in the 'International Conference on Citriculture: Challenges and Management' at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan which was organised from February 11 to 13.

Both the scientists are working on citrus in the department of fruit science, PAU. The department of horticulture, Bahauddin Zakariya University, organised the conference, wherein more than 200 scientists from Pakistan, India and China participated.

Rattanpal presented his oral paper on advanced techniques in micropropagation of rough lemon while Singh presented his oral paper on management of fruit flies with bait application technique on Kinnow. Both the scientists were the members of international steering committee of the conference.

Rattanpal co-chaired the session on citrus breeding while Singh co-chaired session on plant protection. Singh was also a member of poster evaluation committee for selection of best poster. A special visit to a local citrus processing unit and citrus orchards was also organised during the conference.
