The directorate of extension education of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has called upon the young farmers of Punjab to participate in the three-month training course on "Integrated Crop Production" that will be held from August 3 to November 2 on the university premises.
RS Sidhu, director of extension education, said, "The course has been assigned specifically for the rural youth of the state. Young matriculation pass farmers between the age group of 20 and 40 years with are eligible for this course. The participants will be apprised of various aspects of agriculture and allied enterprises."
TS Riar, incharge of the course, said, "The interested candidates can obtain application forms from the office of directorate of extension education or Kairon Kisan Ghar (KKG), PAU, Ludhiana. The last date for receipt of applications is July 29. The interview will be held on July 30 at KKG, PAU at 10am. The candidates are required to bring their matriculation certificate as well as age certificate proof along with them."
Riar said, "The selected candidates will have to deposit a sum of Rs 1,000/ as security, which will be refunded only to the candidates who complete their course successfully. The course fee is Rs 300/- whereas lodging charges are Rs 100/- per month."
