The department of farm machinery and power engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has invited applications from agricultural machinery manufacturers, Industrial Training Institute (ITI) pass outs and educated rural youth of the state for a hands-on training course on operation and programming of computerised numerically controlled (CNC) machines from April 27 to May 13.
Dr GS Manes, head of the department, said a total of 20 participants will be short listed for the training session. The training fee will be Rs 3,000 per participant, he added.
“The boarding and loading will be arranged at PAU as per university norms and expenditure will be borne by trainees from their own pocket,” Manes said.
Further, Dr Manes said the experts will dwell on CNC lathe, CNC milling, CNC drilling, EDM machine and latest manufacturing technologies. He said the training will be useful in enhancing the skills of the employees of the agricultural machinery manufacturers of the state.
“The rural youth will get more employment opportunities in the production/manufacturing units. Certificates will be distributed among the participants after the successful completion of the training,” Manes said.
