Ludhiana District Cricket Association (LDCA), affiliated to Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), launched a non-residential cricket academy, for children in the age group of 13 to 15 years, at Arya College, here on Monday.
The academy is one of six to be opened by PCA across the state for unearthing young talent.
Ludhiana deputy commissioner Rahul Tiwari inaugurated the academy; members of the executive committee of LDCA, coaches and senior players of the district were also present on the ocassion.
Moreover, twenty players have been selected for the academy after trials that were conducted by a panel of experts from the state association.
The composite group of players includes three openers, one wicketkeeper, six middle order batsmen, six fast bowlers and four spinners. The selected players will be training under coach Satwinder Singh.
