Petrol pump cashier robbed of Rs 1.9 lakh

In broad daylight, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched Rs 1.9 lakh from the cashier of a petrol pump, who was also on a motorcycle, and fled at Harcharan Nagar near Shingar Cinema on Tuesday afternoon.

In broad daylight, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched Rs 1.9 lakh from the cashier of a petrol pump, who was also on a motorcycle, and fled at Harcharan Nagar near Shingar Cinema on Tuesday afternoon.


The police of Division No. 3 have registered a case against unidentified accused following the complaint of Gurdas Singh, who works as a cashier at Highway Filling Station near Basti Jodhewal Chowk. The petrol pump is owned by Gurcharan Singh, who also owns the Shingar Cinema.

According to Gurdas Singh, he was coming towards the cinema on his motorcycle to handover cash to the owner. When he reached near Harcharan Nagar two miscreants tried to snatch the bag containing cash. The accused pushed him and he fell on the road along with the motorcycle. They then snatched the bag from him and fled.

Gurdas Singh said he cannot identify the miscreants as they were wearing helmets.

Inspector Brij Mohan, SHO of the Division No. 3 police station, said the police had registered a case and were trying to identify the snatchers.
