To mark their protest against the Punjab government, members of the United Front of Punjab (UFP) cleaned cars parked at Zila Parishad Complex on Tuesday.

The members - pharmacists and Class-4 employees of rural health centers and civil veterinary hospitals - are on strike since June 1, demanding increase in their salaries and regularisation of jobs.

Gurmeet Singh, convener of the Rural Health Pharmacists Action Committee, a part of UFP, said the pharmacists, including women cleaned the cars to mark their protest against the government, which was ignoring their voice.

Dawinder Singh, district president of the Rural Health Pharmacists Action Committee, said that they had already announced gherao of Punjab cabinet minister Surjit Singh Rakhra on June 24 in Patiala.
