A three-day public information campaign 'Bharat Nirman' was organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Shimla, at Amb in Una district on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the campaign, Una deputy commissioner Abhishaik Jain said such campaigns were helping the government to smoothly run the welfare schemes started for benefit of people.
Jain said, "Without the flow of information about government schemes, people will not be able to take their benefit."
Campaign officer and assistant director of PIB Tara Singh informed that the bureau was organising 16 such campaign in north India and this is third in the region.
Meanwhile, the bureau has set up 30 stalls depicting progress and information of various schemes in the campaign. The first day of campaign was dedicated to rural development, MNREGA, Indra Awas Yojana, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sarak Yojana, Food security, AADHAR, Direct Benefit Transfer and Land acquisition act.
Bhupinder Kainthala, director, press information bureau, Chandigarh, and Ravinder Singh, director of directorate of field publicity were also present at the event.
