Police arrest 3 members of dacoits gang

Moga district police have arrested three alleged notorious dacoits and seized one pistol and sharp-edged weapons from them. However, two of their accomplices managed to escape.

Moga district police have arrested three alleged notorious dacoits and seized one pistol and sharp-edged weapons from them. However, two of their accomplices managed to escape.


Stating this here on Monday, Moga SSP Surjit Singh Grewal claimed that a gang of dacoits was actively operating in the district for the past five years and was responsible for a large number of cases of dacoity and looting.

On a tip-off, police raided their hideout on Sunday evening and arrested three of them.
Those arrested were identified as Beant Singh of Dala village, Ravinder Singh of Gholia Khurd and Amandeep Singh of Rauke.

The escaped accused were identified as Manpreet Singh of Buttar Kalan and Kuldeep Singh of Rauke Kalan.
