Police arrest three; seize 500-gm opium

Model Town police here arrested three persons in two separate cases and seized 500-gm opium from their possession on Friday. Inspector Davinder Chaudhary, the station house officer of Model Town police station, said that in the first case, the police arrested Som Pal, 61, and Shiv Das, 60, from Kamla Nagar and found them in possession of 250-gm opium.

Model Town police here arrested three persons in two separate cases and seized 500-gm opium from their possession on Friday.


Inspector Davinder Chaudhary, the station house officer of Model Town police station, said that in the first case, the police arrested Som Pal, 61, and Shiv Das, 60, from Kamla Nagar and found them in possession of 250-gm opium.

Police have claimed that the accused had confessed to procuring the opium from Uttar Pradesh and wanted to sell it here. Later, following information provided by the two, the police arrested their accomplice, identified as Som Pal, 62, of Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, from railway bridge of Atam Park and seized 250-gm opium from him.

The police registered a separate case against him.
