The police have booked two persons for murder in a recent case in which a 33-year-old woman, Baljinder Kaur, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her house in the posh Green Avenue.

The case was registered against Aman and Pardhan on the complaint of Kuldeep Kaur, mother of the deceased. Kaur told the police that her daughter Baljinder was married to Harinder Singh and they had two children.

"The case of their divorce was going on. Aman, who had friendship with my daughter, had taken her gold. He started spreading the word that my daughter was characterless. On August 15, Aman spoke to me saying my daughter was asking for the gold. He threatened to kill my daughter. On August 18, I came to know that my daughter was no more."

Confirming this, station head officer (SHO), Civil Lines, inspector Sukhwinder Randhawa said, "On the complaint of the mother of the deceased, we have registered a case under section 302 against Aman and Pardhan. They are yet to be arrested. We are conducting raids to nab them."

Baljinder, who ran a beauty parlour from a rented accommodation in the Green Avenue, was found dead in her house a few days back.
A piece of her dupatta was found hanging from the fan, while her body was lying on the floor when the police reached the spot.
