Punjab police has got valuable clues about the main accused in the teenage girl kidnapping case.

Shruti, a 15-year-old, was reportedly abducted by gangster Nishan Singh Brar at gunpoint from her residence at Dogar Basti on September 24.

Additional director general of police (ADGP) Satish Sharma last evening reached Faridkot and held a meeting with the Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the case.

During his meeting with members of the Joint Action Committee and family members of Shruti, Sharma admitted negligence on part of police officers and said action would be taken against the erring police officials.

Meanwhile, Kulwinder Kaur and Nishu Chopra, accomplices of the main accused Nishan, were produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Dr Rajnish on Tuesday, who granted them police remand up to October 19.

According to police sources, Balwinder, Nishu and Rajwinder Singh, who was arrested from Pihani area in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, hatched the conspiracy in connivance with the mother of Nishan for kidnapping Shruti.
