Director general of police SN Vashisth on Thursday reached Hisar to assess the situation. The DGP met five superintendents of police and, later, told the media that that the police would do anything to carry out the Punjab and Haryana high court orders to produce Sant Rampal on November 17.
The DGP left for Chandigarh after the meeting. The people gathered at Satlok Ashram distributed leaflets in the town to condemn some judicial officers. “We will challenge the high court decision in the Supreme Court. If we don’t get justice there, we’ll pray to the President to allow Santji to die at his will. But we’ll not let the police enter the ashram to arrest him,” Ashram spokesman Raj Kapoor.
The police are moving closer to the ashram and have 40 ambulances ready in case of a showdown with the followers of Rampal.
