Police commissioner Paramraj Singh Umranangal on Saturday extended ban on covering face with clothes while driving a two-wheeler for two more months.
Police commissioner Paramraj Singh Umranangal on Saturday extended ban on covering face with clothes while driving a two-wheeler for two more months.
In his orders, the commissioner said sometimes criminals cover their faces while committing a crime and its difficult for the police to identify them.
Singh had banned covering face while driving around two months ago. The order had drawn flak from the city residents.
It is also pertinent to mention that the police had registered a case under sections 188 of IPC against a man for driving two-wheeler while covering his face.
Ban on serving of eatables without wearing gloves
Umranangal has also banned serving of eatables without wearing gloves at all shops and rehris selling fast food. He has ordered that any person serving all kinds of eatables must wear gloves all the time. In his orders, the commissioner said it has come to his notice that some people don’t wear gloves while serving eatables, which leads to several diseases and health related problems and poses risk to their lives. These orders would remain in force for two months from Saturday.
