Police conducted a search operation at railway station and bus stand on Tuesday on account of the Independence Day. A team of police along with dog squad and anti-sabotage team reached the railway station and bus stand and initiated search operation.
Two police teams led by additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) city-1 Amrik Singh Pawar and assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu frisked suspects.
The ADCP said it was a routine search operation.
He said, "The police have chalked out security arrangements at all public places, including railway station, bus stand and markets."
The police teams also checked trains and buses at railway station and bus stand but nothing objectionable was found.
The ADCP added that people should immediately call the police control room or nearby police station if they found anything suspicious. He also advised people to not to touch abandoned things at public places.
