Police fails to arrest main accused in murder case

The police have failed to arrest the main accused in an attempt to murder case of a Police Control Room (PCR) employee. Meanwhile, the other three accused were arrested on Friday by the Johdewal police.

Two traders, along with their 30 armed goons, have not only vandalised a dying factory with intention to take illegal possession on it, but also thrashed the PCR motorcycle squad that reached the spot on being informed at wee hours on July 26 at Tibba road.

The accused have also tried to snatch carbine (weapon) from the PCR employees, in the attempt two bullets were shot from the weapon. One of the bullets had hit the PCR employee in his stomach.

The Johdewal police are citing reason for the delay in the arrest of the main accused to the busy schedule in the August 15 preparations. According to the sources, the accused have been backed up by an Akali leader.

Owner of the factory K Raj scientific dyers, Kapil Kant Khosla said the accused have struck at factory on July 25 afternoon and have beaten up his son-in-law.

The incident has been captured in the CCTVs installed at the factory. The accused had vandalised the CCTVs also.

Inspector Harpal Singh, station house officer (SHO) of Johdewal Basti, said, "We have arrested three accomplices in the case. The police are trying to arrest the main accused, Moreover, we are also busy in August 15 preparations and security".
