Police hold interactive session to motivate students for 'Jor Mela'

The police department on Wednesday organised a special interactive session to motivate students for cooperation in 'Shaheedi Jor Mela'to be held here during the last week of December.

SSP Gurmeet Singh Chauhan interacted with the students. Nearly 300 volunteers of NCC, NSS, Red Cross unit, Youth Club and others participated in session.

The SSP highlighted the history and importance of the mela and motivated the students to be a part of this pious ceremony. Chauhan said that the police would provide necessary facilities and security to the devotees.

College principal Dr Jatinder Singh Sidhu also inspired the students and assured full cooperation to the police. He encouraged the students to serve the society selflessly. Addressing the students, Ramandeep Singh, DSP, Khamano, said, "It is moral duty of every citizen to cooperate with the police and each other."

He said that students of this college worked with great dedication and determination during the mela last year also. He assigned some duties to the students, who also shared their valuable experiences and views regarding their duties last year.

Prof Bikramjit Singh Sandhu, Professor of Mata Gujri College, Balwant Singh SP (Headquarter), Hardavinder Singh Sandhu, DSP, Prof Pardeep Kaur , Prof Birinder Singh Sarao, Prof Ravinder Kaur also expressed their views.
