Police issue advisory to people increasing burgalries in city

Taking cognizance of the rising theft cases in the city,the Model Town Police has issued an advisory to the people who plan to go on vacation in the upcoming summer vacations.

The police said vacant houses and shops become soft targets for miscreants and burglars and local residents must ,therefore,become more cautious.SHO Gurdev Singh urged residents to lock the house properly before leaving and to install grills on windows and on air conditioner ducts.He also advised people to install close circuit video cameras(CCTVs) and alarm system in the house.

“Deposit precious items like jewelley in bank lockers and avoid leaving loose cash at home.Informing neighbors,close relatives,locality security guard and the concerned police station can also prove to be helpful.The patrolling party of police will keep a regular check on the house, once informed.Parking vehicle inside the house could help prevent theft”,he added.

The SHO also suggested people to get police verification of their domestic help, security guard, laborer and tenants done.
