Police raid two brothels, 13 held

The local police conducted raids at two brothels in different areas of the city and arrested 13 suspects, including seven women, on Sunday.

Two separate cases under various sections of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act have been registered at the Focal Point and Sadar police station in this context.

In the first case, the police raided at a house at Fauji Colony and arrested three women, including kingpin of the racket, and a customer. The suspects have been identified as Kamla Devi (kingpin) of Fauji Colony, Chanda Devi of Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Usha Devi of Dhandhari Kalan and Dharminder Singh of Fauji Colony.

In another case, the CIA staff-1 raided at Thakur Colony on Pakhowal road and arrested five men and four women from a brothel being run in a rented accommodation.

The accused have been identified as Poonam of Thakur Colony, Manpreet Kaur of Udham Singh Nagar of Amritsar, Simran of Tilak Nagar of Jalandhar, Sandeep Kaur of Zirakhpur, Pankaj of Gaushala Road, Robin of Moga, Manish of Basti Gaja of Jalandhar and Dheeraj Gupta of Kabir Nagar of Ludhiana.
