Police recovers 30 kg poppy husk, 4,000 narcotic pills

Patiala police have recovered 30kg poppy husk along with 4,000 narcotic tablets from various locations in the district on Sunday during routine search operations and booked seven people including a woman.

As per information, police recovered 10g poppy husk during the search operation at GT Road Rajpura, from the possession of Asif Khan. Police recovered 20 kg poppy husk from the possession of Mohammad Sahil of Uttar Pradesh. The arrested woman has been identified as Samana-based Mahinder Kaur.

Meanwhile, police officials recovered 30 packets carrying 3,000 narcotic pills along with 50 bottles of narcotic cough syrup from the possession of Kuljit Singh near Banjarpur on National Highway 1.

Police also recovered 500 narcotic pills each from the possession of Anil Kumar and Ram Kumar from two different locations in the district.

Police have booked all these people under various sections of the Narcotic Drug Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act.
