Police seize 20 boxes of illicit liquor, 300 narcotic pills

Police seized 20 boxes of illicit liquor and 300 narcotic pills from several locations in the district late Thursday evening and have booked seven people for having possession of the contraband.

The department claimed that some of its officials were on search duty at Karanpur village in Sanour block, where they recovered 20 boxes of illicit liquor and were marked with "For Sale in Haryana' only. When confronted, the accused managed to flee from the spot.

Two people have been booked in connection with the case and only one has been identified as Manjit Singh.

The police have also recovered 15-litre Lahan along with 42 illicit bottles of the liquor from the possession of Sukha Singh, Rajnish Kumar, Prem Chand, and Jagtar Singh, respectively at various locations.

Police have also recovered 300 narcotic pills at Badanpur village of Samana from the possession of Ram Chand. Police have booked all the accused under various sections of the Excise Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
